Geoffrey Mason had a five-decade career in sports television across ABC Sports, ESPN, NBC, Fox, the NFL Network and other outlets. He won 24 Emmy Awards and was inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2010. He coordinated ABC's coverage of the terrorist attack at the 1972 Munich Olympics and worked on eight Olympic assignments. His production credits included the Super Bowl, World Series, World Cup, Monday Night Football, golf and tennis majors, the Tour de France, the Indianapolis 500, horse racing's Triple Crown and the America's Cup. A Duke University graduate and U.S. Navy veteran, he began at ABC Sports in 1967. He served on the boards of the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. He is survived by his wife, Chris; son, Geoff Jr.; and brother, David.
