"Anyone hoping to drive in or out of downtown this weekend is being advised to reconsider their routes due to several highway closures. The work, which will be finished at 5 a.m. on Monday, will permanently move the eastern sections of the Lower Don Bridge over the DVP. Metrolinx's notice of the closures warns drivers to expect travel delays and to plan ahead. It said work may be delayed or rescheduled if there is inclement weather."
"Southbound lanes of the DVP will be closed from Bayview Avenue to the Gardiner Expressway. Southbound on-ramp from Bayview will be closed. Northbound on-ramp of the DVP at Don Roadway will be closed. Gardiner's eastbound lanes from Bay Street to the DVP will closed and continue northbound until Eastern Avenue. Eastbound on-ramps of the Gardiner will be closed at Rees Street and Bay Street."
Parts of the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway will be closed this weekend while construction crews complete work for Metrolinx's Ontario Line. Multiple on-ramps and lane segments on both the DVP and Gardiner will be closed, with some westbound and eastbound Gardiner lanes affected. Drivers should expect travel delays and plan ahead. Work may be delayed or rescheduled in inclement weather. Subway service between St. George and St. Andrew will be suspended with no shuttle buses operating.
