Midtown Farm Boy forced to close after failing Toronto's DineSafe inspection | CBC News
"A Farm Boy location in the Yonge-Eglinton area has been forced to temporarily close after failing a DineSafe inspection. According to the City of Toronto, two of the infractions include permitting rodents and failing to protect food from contamination. The Farm Boy location near Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue has closed temporarily after failing an inspection conducted through the city's DineSafe program. The inspection found two "crucial" and other less severe infractions at the grocery store, including a failure to protect food from contamination and that the premise was maintained in a "manner permitting health hazards," specifically rodents."
"Farm boy says its food safety team is currently on site working with public health officials to review and strengthen its pest control program. "We have taken immediate action, including a full sanitation of the Yonge and Soudan location at 2149 Yonge St, Toronto and a rigorous review by our third-party pest control management company," said Aaron Wade, Farm Boy's spokesperson, in an emailed statement."
""I bought some fajitas a week ago and there were some holes in them, I thought it could have been a mouse but I wasn't sure," said Quentin Parrenin, a resident who said he had previously shopped at the now closed store."
A Farm Boy grocery at Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue temporarily closed after failing a DineSafe inspection. The inspection identified two "crucial" infractions and additional less severe issues, including failure to protect food from contamination and premises maintained in a manner permitting health hazards due to rodents. The location at 2149 Yonge St underwent a full sanitation and the company's food safety team is working with public health officials and a third-party pest control firm. The store had seven inspections this year, three conditional passes that noted pest harbouring infractions. A customer reported finding holes in purchased fajitas.
