Report: Blue Jays to call up No. 1 prospect Trey Yesavage

"The 2024 first-round draft pick has seen a meteoric rise that has now culminated with the big league club just over a year since his draft. Yesavage began the year in Low-A Dunedin, where he posted a 2.43 ERA with 55 strikeouts in seven appearances. The short yet impressive stint earned him a spot on the High-A Vancouver Canadians mid-May, where he yet again shone with a 1.56 ERA and 33 strikeouts in four appearances."

"Yesavage wasn't done there, as he was quickly called up to Double-A New Hampshire in June, posting a 4.50 ERA and 46 strikeouts in eight appearances. His performance up until that point was enough to be selected for the All-Star Futures Game, where he struck out JJ Wetherholt. While he began to show signs of struggles for the Fisher Cats, the organization still saw his value and called him up to Triple-A Buffalo in August."

"His promotion to Triple-A caught the attention of many, and Blue Jays manager John Schneider hinted at a potential September call-up for the right-hander. Eventually, Yesavage would prove his worth and, in six appearances, posted a 3.63 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 17.1 innings. When it's all said and done, Yesavage finishes his 2025 campaign in the minors with a 5-1 record, 3.12 ERA, and 160 strikeouts in 160 innings."

Trey Yesavage will be promoted to the Toronto Blue Jays, joining the team in Toronto Sunday and likely active Monday. He rose rapidly through the minors in 2025, beginning in Low-A Dunedin (2.43 ERA, 55 strikeouts in seven appearances) and moving to High-A Vancouver (1.56 ERA, 33 strikeouts in four appearances). He reached Double-A New Hampshire in June (4.50 ERA, 46 strikeouts in eight appearances) and was selected for the All-Star Futures Game, where he struck out JJ Wetherholt. He advanced to Triple-A Buffalo in August (3.63 ERA, 26 strikeouts in 17.1 innings over six appearances) and finished the minor-league season 5-1 with a 3.12 ERA and 160 strikeouts in 160 innings. He was not added to the 40-man roster before September 1.
