McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri collided during the Canadian GP, resulting in Norris crashing out. Despite the incident, both drivers expressed accountability and sportsmanship. Norris admitted fault over the crash, apologizing to the team and Piastri. McLaren's team principal Andrea Stella noted it was a misjudgment, stressing there was no malice. Piastri defended the race as fair, insisting there were no bad intentions. Meanwhile, George Russell secured victory, moving closer in championship standings as Piastri continues to lead over Norris.
I'm glad I didn't ruin his race. I apologize to the whole team and to Oscar for attempting something probably a bit too silly.
We definitely never want to see the two McLarens touching each other. At the same time, it's a contact that happened because of a misjudgment.
