The parent sometimes worries about forcing children to live out travel dreams during uncomfortable experiences like freezing nights in the desert or crouching through pyramids. Children sometimes prefer Disney or resort pools, and the parent had been afraid to ask. When asked which trip they liked most, the children agreed a nine-day trip to Jordan was their favorite, including floating in the Dead Sea, swimming in the Red Sea, climbing Petra, hiking an ancient town, and sleeping in a remote Bedouin camp with a shared bathroom.
