"New Orleans boasts the most bars of the study at over 52 per 100,000 residents (and they happen to be open 24 hours per day). Celebrated for its live music, historic architecture, and walkability, the Big Easy also offers affordable nightlife with the average cost of a drink at only $10, and most local beers running around just $4."
"Nightlife is part of everyone's life, regardless of economic conditions. There's also a psychological aspect to it: studies show that people have higher work-life balance and life satisfaction if they always have a 'fun budget' planned, even a small one."
"Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, came in second on the list with 28.7 bars per 100,000 residents, a closing time of 2 a.m., and the second-highest safety score of the cities on the list. There, drinks will also set bar patrons back $10 each, on average."
New Orleans surpasses Las Vegas as the premier party destination according to a Gambulls study. The city features the highest bar density at over 52 establishments per 100,000 residents, all operating 24 hours daily. Drinks average $10 with local beers at $4, and appetizer half-shares cost just over $6. Pittsburgh ranks second with 28.7 bars per 100,000 residents and a 2 a.m. closing time, offering comparable drink prices. Las Vegas places third with 35 bars per 100,000 residents but charges $12 per drink, the highest surveyed. Columbus and Raleigh complete the top five. The study evaluated safety, bar density, operating hours, and food and beverage costs across cities.
