""I'd like to thank all my family and friends for all the belief they've had in me. This is a special moment and I'm going to cherish it.""
""He looked so cool and calm all the way through. He played brilliantly from the start,""
Alfie Burden defeated Stuart Bingham 63-8 to win the Snooker Shoot Out final in Blackpool, securing his first ranking title. Burden celebrated by climbing on the table and will turn 49 on Sunday. Burden previously won the World Seniors Championship in May and takes home the £50,000 prize. He characterized his 30-year career as largely downs with underperformance and called the victory a special moment, thanking family and friends for their belief. Bingham, who was runner-up in 2014, had a late chance to recover from 56-7 but missed a blue after potting a red. The Snooker Shoot Out is a single-frame, 10-minute match with a shot clock of 15 seconds for the first five minutes and 10 seconds for the final five minutes.
