"Michael Gwilliam, who passed away aged 79 in February 2022, spent almost his entire life in Gloucestershire's "rural, ancient and somewhat secluded" Forest of Dean. He was a farmer and antiques dealer, known for his passion for restoring classic cars. His relationship with his daughters had been "harmonious" until 2013."
Four daughters successfully challenged their "domineering" aunt in a court battle over the £1 million estate of their eccentric father. Michael Gwilliam died aged 79 in February 2022 after spending almost his life in Gloucestershire's rural, ancient and somewhat secluded Forest of Dean. He worked as a farmer and antiques dealer and restored classic cars, living in overalls and wellies and described as a true son of the Forest of Dean. His relationship with his daughters was harmonious until 2013, when his mental health rapidly deteriorated after age 71, causing paranoia, irrational suspicions of neighbours and even his children. He left no will and lawyers estimated his estate at up to £1 million.
