Ireland interim head coach Simon Easterby handed driving ban for speeding
Briefly

Easterby, the interim head coach of the Irish rugby team and a coach for the British and Irish Lions, faced legal repercussions after being caught speeding last August. The Cardiff Magistrates' Court acknowledged his work and family commitments requiring travel but deemed that a disqualification would not obstruct his job. As a result, he was handed a driving ban along with a fine totaling £1,345 (€1,583). He continues to play a significant role ahead of the Lions' matches in Australia this summer.
Easterby, currently the head coach of the Irish rugby team and coach for the English Lions, was disqualified for exceeding a 70mph speed limit last August.
Despite considering Easterby’s work and family obligations requiring him to drive, the court ultimately decided to impose a ban as it would not hinder his professional duties.
