A fatal road traffic collision occurred on the N4 at Ballinafid, Co. Westmeath just before 1am on Sunday, March 15th, 2026. Emergency services responded to the incident, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The N4 between Mullingar and Rathowen remains closed while technical examination takes place, with local diversions implemented. Gardai are appealing for witnesses and requesting dash-cam or camera footage from road users who were traveling on the N4 near Ballinafid between 12:30am and 1:10am.
