Superdry co-founder James Holder found guilty of rape
"The woman said she was crying and asking the married father-of-two to stop but he carried on. The ordeal ended when she managed to escape the bedroom."
"Holder claimed the encounter was consensual, stating, 'We walked to the bedroom, which was about a minute away ... and began kissing again.'"
"The woman denied suggestions from Holder's barrister that she had initiated the encounter, stating, 'I call it rape.'"
James Holder, a 54-year-old fashion boss, raped a woman after a night out drinking. He fell asleep on her bed and later attacked her when she was in the lounge. The jury acquitted him of assault by penetration but found him guilty of rape. The woman testified that she was crying and asking him to stop during the assault. Holder claimed the encounter was consensual, but the woman firmly denied this, stating it was rape. The incident occurred in May 2022 after they returned to her home uninvited.
