Prince Harry and six other claimants, including Elton John, are suing Associated Newspapers over alleged privacy breaches from the early 1990s to the 2010s. Associated denies wrongdoing, calling the claims "preposterous smears" and asserting journalists used legitimate sources, including celebrities' friends and acquaintances. Harry previously gave court evidence in 2023 and answered questions from Associated's lawyer Antony White, responding combatively and becoming emotional about the personal impact. The case centers on 14 articles alleged to result from voicemail hacking, bugging landlines and blagging. Harry denies friendships with the papers' journalists and rejects that his social circles were "leaky".
