"Despite being England's capital city, many parts of London have rubbish phone signal. Ever tried loading Citymapper while in Covent Garden? Yeah, think again. Now it's been revealed exactly where in the Big Smoke has the worst, and best, phone signal. Consumer advice site Which? has unveiled a new mobile network coverage map, using analysis powered by Opensignal. The analysis measured signal for four major network providers - EE, O2, Three, and Vodafone."
"If you're waiting for an important phone call, you're going to want to avoid the E20 postcode. This covers the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford and its surrounding developments. The study found that mobile phone users in E20 only experienced a reliable connection 74.8 percent of the time, well below the 85 percent or higher seen in many other London postcodes."
"Other London areas with good phone coverage were SW3, covering Chelsea, Brompton, and part of Knightsbridge and SE27, which includes West Norwood and parts of Gipsy Hill and Norwood. Natalie Hitchins, head of home products and services at Which?, said: 'This research shows just how dramatically the quality of mobile coverage can vary. Choosing the right provider can mean the difference between seamless coverage or constantly battling to make a call from the comfort of your own home.'"
An analysis using Opensignal measured mobile signal reliability for four major UK networks (EE, O2, Three, Vodafone) across London postcodes. The E20 postcode (Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford) had the lowest reliable connection rate at 74.8 percent. Vodafone provided the strongest signal in E20 with 86 percent reliability, while Three recorded only 59 percent in that area. SE11 (Kennington and Vauxhall) achieved the highest coverage in the UK, tied at 87.8 percent with Nottingham's NG3. Other London areas with strong coverage include SW3 (Chelsea, Brompton, Knightsbridge) and SE27 (West Norwood, Gipsy Hill).
