This warning follows missile exchanges between Israel and Iran, with increased Israeli military operations targeting Iranian infrastructures. The situation is described as fluid and could worsen unexpectedly. British nationals currently in the region are urged to heed local authorities' guidance while the UK government reinforces its military presence by sending additional RAF jets to the Middle East.
The current FCDO advice is to avoid all travel to Iran. Israel launched a new attack on Iran on the night of 12 June saying its targets were military infrastructure including nuclear sites.
My message to British nationals there is clear - your safety remains our top priority, said Foreign Secretary David Lammy regarding the travel advisory to Israel.
