Kemi Badenoch denies sacked Tory's claim party doesn't allow free speech
"she was "very happy to hear from people who have different views"."
"it was "a sad day when the party does not allow free speech or criticism""
"he had "been concerned for some time over the direction of the Conservative Party at a UK level and I feel it no longer represents my conservative values and beliefs""
"if Tories were "talking to other parties that are trying to harm us, then they should go elsewhere""
Kemi Badenoch said there is room for free speech in the Conservative Party and that she welcomes people with different views. She warned that members who engage with other parties perceived as trying to harm the Conservatives should move elsewhere. James Evans had the whip removed and was sacked as shadow health secretary after speaking to Reform and publicly criticising party direction and leadership comments. Evans said he felt the UK Conservative Party no longer represented his values and described the removal as a sad day for free speech and criticism. Badenoch met Senedd leader Darren Millar following Evans's removal.
