"From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story."
"Commuters are set to face almost a week of transport disruption due to Tube strikes in the capital. From Sunday 7 September, different groups of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) members will walk out across the Tube network each day, with the aim of bringing operations to a halt. Every Underground line will be affected during this period, and those services that are still running are expected to be busier than usual. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming walkouts."
Commuters in London face almost a week of transport disruption due to scheduled Tube and DLR strikes by RMT members from 7 to 12 September 2025. Services will be limited on Sunday 7 September with trains finishing early and passengers advised to complete journeys by 6pm. From Monday 8 to Thursday 11 September, Tube services are expected to be severely disrupted with little to no service, and the DLR will be suspended on 9 and 11 September. Services are expected to begin returning on Friday 12 September from 8am. The Independent requests donations to fund on-the-ground journalism while keeping reporting free to readers.
