The government unveiled a Trusted Third Parties AI assurance roadmap to encourage investment in UK artificial intelligence, covering professional certification and verification of AI quality processes. Labour urged AI investors and regulators to move further and faster to deliver growth as part of the modern industrial strategy. Industry is called on to match government ambition by investing, building, listing and scaling in Britain to secure a global competitive edge. AI assurance is presented as essential to demonstrate trustworthiness, build confidence, enable firm investment in new products and services, and drive innovation and economic growth. The roadmap plans an AI assurance consortium to develop foundational building blocks for future professional AI assurance services.
