A large crane collapsed at a construction site near 201 Rover St. on the Mystic River in Everett, killing two workers. The crane was operating from a barge at the time of its collapse. The Pile Drivers and Divers Local 56 union said it represented the two men, expressed devastation, and thanked emergency responders. The Middlesex District Attorney's Office and Everett police issued a joint statement and OSHA was notified. Mayor Carlo DeMaria extended condolences, identified one victim as Larriston Lake, and pledged a thorough investigation; the other victim was identified as Paul Ledwell Jr., 37.
