John Dickerson will depart CBS News at the end of the year after 16 years with the network. He served as a political correspondent and most recently as a co-anchor of the CBS Evening News. The departure was his decision, though he was aware that significant changes, including a revamp of the Evening News, were expected. Editorial control of the news division now rests with Bari Weiss, appointed by Skydance after its absorption of Paramount. Skydance is run by David Ellison; Paramount paid $16 million to settle a lawsuit by President Donald Trump over a "60 Minutes" interview. Weiss has questioned perceptions of bias at "60 Minutes" and has considered hiring a Fox News anchor for the Evening News.
