Man Slashes Acquaintance's Neck During Suffolk Assault: Police
"NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY - A West Babylon man was arrested after slashing someone's neck with a knife during an assault in North Amityville Sunday afternoon, police said. According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place at 1:38 p.m. at a home on Jefferson Avenue. Angelo Andrade, 49, was at the home of an acquaintance when he seriously injured him during the attack, police said."
"Andrade also threatened another resident with the knife before fleeing the home, police said. The person slashed, 45, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said. Andrade was arrested a short time later and charged with first-degree assault; second-degree assault; second-degree menacing; and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said."
At 1:38 p.m. on Sunday, Angelo Andrade, 49, allegedly attacked an acquaintance at a Jefferson Avenue home in North Amityville, slashing the victim's neck with a knife. The 45-year-old victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment. Andrade threatened another resident with the knife before fleeing the scene. Police arrested Andrade a short time later. He faces charges including first-degree assault, second-degree assault, second-degree menacing, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and is being held pending arraignment.
