N.H. police investigating crash that 'launched' box truck into cluster of trees
"A Brockton man was injured Saturday morning when the box truck he was driving veered off Interstate 93 in New Hampshire and "launched" into a cluster of trees, according to officials. New Hampshire State Police said 21-year-old Anilton Resende Barros suffered minor injuries in the crash, which happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. near Exit 23 in New Hampton. Troopers responded to the scene and found a 2012 yellow Hino 258/268 up in the trees in the highway median, State Police said in a statement."
"According to police, a preliminary investigation determined Resende Barros was heading northbound "when, for reasons that remain under investigation, he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway." "The box truck went straight into the median, traveling over the crossover between the north and southbound lanes, struck an embankment, and launched into a group of trees before coming to a final stop in the woods separating the opposing lanes," State Police added. Resende Barros was transported to a local hospital for evaluation."
