A London march organized by far-right activist Tommy Robinson drew an estimated 110,000 to 150,000 participants and was presented as a free-speech demonstration. A small group of supporters clashed with police who were separating them from counterprotesters; officers were punched, kicked and struck by bottles. Reinforcements with helmets and riot shields supported more than 1,000 officers on duty. Twenty-six police officers were injured, four seriously, including broken teeth, a concussion, a possible broken nose and a spinal injury. At least 25 people were arrested for violent disorder, assaults and criminal damage. A rival counterprotest had about 5,000 marchers.
