Patrick Reed is leaving LIV Golf and plans to return to the PGA Tour later this season. He resigned from the PGA Tour after joining the Saudi Arabian-financed LIV Golf in June 2022. Reed prioritized family and wants to play closer to them. He will be eligible to return to the PGA Tour on Aug. 25, making him eligible for FedEx Cup Fall events. As a non-member he will pursue open qualifiers and sponsor exemptions. He has requested PGA Tour membership reinstatement for 2027 as a past champion and can improve his status by winning this fall or finishing top 10 in the DP World Tour Race to Dubai. As part of the return agreement, he will forfeit player equity in PGA Tour Enterprises through 2030 and will be eligible for a captain's pick on the 2026 U.S. Presidents Cup team.
