These catchy old songs aren't as think as you drunk they are
Briefly

Recent industry reports indicate a shift towards moderation or non-alcoholic options in drinking culture. However, drinking songs, such as the enduring "Three Nights Drunk," continue to resonate. This song, part of a compilation titled Drinking in Here, showcases the significance of drinking songs as oral traditions emphasizing camaraderie. Produced by David Katznelson and featuring recordings from the Lomax Archive, the collection reflects various cultural influences, with many songs tracing back to the British Isles. The relevance of this music persists, bridging generations and embodying social connections.
"It's a total tradition that these drinking songs are not only passed around in an evening, but they're passed around over years," said record producer David Katznelson.
"My grandfather used to take a little flask of what he called 'the water of life' hidden in his jacket," Lomax Wood said. "He'd go off and excuse himself and have a little swig."
