Weinstein's previous legal team at Aidala Bertuna & Kamins will continue handling his appeals related to his June conviction for forcing oral sex on former Project Runway assistant Miriam Haley in 2006, but will not participate in the upcoming trial. Weinstein's spokesperson stated the new legal strategy represents a recalibrated approach after two prior trials. Agnifilo and Kaplan recently achieved a significant victory in the Mangione case by removing capital punishment from consideration, while Agnifilo and Geragos previously secured acquittals for Sean Diddy Combs.
