Sally Burns is 105 and recently celebrated her birthday with a party, cake and 30 opened cards. She was born in 1920, the same year women gained the vote; Babe Ruth was traded and the Model T was America's top-selling car as Prohibition began. She has a son and a daughter, ages 74 and 75. Her first job was as a receptionist in 1938 for Franklin Roosevelt's housing department. She says she eats oatmeal and drinks white wine daily. She attends Live Oak Adult Day Services in San Jose several times a week. Live Oak serves about 100 people ages 60 to 105 at four locations, operating weekdays with activities, meals and caregiver respite on a sliding fee scale.
