Celebs, politicians and more react to indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live!'
"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it."
"Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human? On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence."
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way, he continued. These companies can find ways to take action on Kimmel or there is going to be additional work for the FCC ahead."
Nexstar announced it will not air Jimmy Kimmel Live! on its ABC affiliate stations for the foreseeable future following remarks Kimmel made about the killing of Charlie Kirk. ABC, owned by the Walt Disney Company, suspended Kimmel's late-night show indefinitely. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said Kimmel's comments were a serious issue for Disney and warned of potential FCC action, saying companies can act voluntarily or face additional FCC work. Kimmel's monologue criticized political responses to Kirk's death and his immediate statement expressed sympathy for Kirk's family and victims of gun violence. Calls to boycott ABC and Disney trended online.
