Approximately 24 children were seen with their hands chained in a video filmed in a federal parking garage, raising concerns from an immigrant-rights group. The children, confirmed by attorneys to be from Ventura County, were reportedly not with their parents. Jorge-Mario Cabrera, from the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights Los Angeles, expressed outrage over the inhumane treatment, stating they are not criminals and criticized the Trump administration for its immigration policies. The children's situation remains unclear as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has not provided an explanation.
These are children, for God's sake. These are not hardened criminals and I think the Trump administration should be ashamed. We're in unusual times and under the current circumstances, nothing surprises me anymore, yet it enrages me.
Attorneys contacted the children and planned to represent them, confirming details posted with the video describing when and where it was recorded. Cabrera said the children were not accompanied by their parents and were from Ventura County.
