Sergei Shestakov, a 71-year-old former Russian diplomat and naturalized U.S. citizen who worked as an authorized federal court interpreter, was sentenced to two months in jail for lying to U.S. law enforcement. Judge Jed Rakoff imposed two months' imprisonment, two years of supervised release, and a $100 fine, with the term beginning in February. Shestakov had exchanged conversations with Yevgeny Fokin, a former diplomat and En+ executive who was placed under FBI surveillance and had devices seized in July 2019.
