Both men leaned forward side-by-side while talking, and Musk appeared to smirk after lifting his head. UFC CEO Dana White and Jared Kushner were also present in the box. The relationship shifted from cordiality in late May, when Trump presented Musk a gold key, to tension over accusations about withheld Jeffrey Epstein files and Musk's threat to form a new political party. Musk later described the federal government as essentially unfixable and has not returned to Washington, D.C. since leaving his role in the administration. Reports indicate Musk has recently gravitated toward Vice President J.D. Vance rather than launching a new party, and Trump has publicly characterized Musk as largely brilliant but imperfect.
