President Donald Trump signed a memo ordering Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to discontinue any security-related procedures previously authorized by Executive Memorandum, beyond those required by law, for Kamala Harris starting September 1. Harris's Secret Service protection, originally extended by President Joe Biden past the standard six months and scheduled to last until July 2026, will end on Monday. A senior advisor said the Vice President is grateful to the United States Secret Service for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safety. The withdrawal coincides with Harris's planned book tour to promote her memoir '107 Days,' due September 23.
