Tyler Robinson, 22, was charged with aggravated murder, firearm counts and multiple obstruction of justice charges after the fatal shooting of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray called the killing an American tragedy and said Kirk was killed while exercising a protected American right. Investigators allege Robinson left a note stating, "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it," and told a roommate to look under a keyboard where the note was found. Robinson was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt and is being held without bail. Officials have suggested a possible political motive; Utah Governor Spencer Cox said Robinson held beliefs consistent with a "leftist ideology."
