This year’s Summer Game Fest was a weird one, reportedly lacking the big announcements that usually define June's video game showcases.
With fewer Kotaku writers attending, the coverage of the event was limited and I was only able to glimpse some promising games.
I hope things are different in 2026, but for now, the experience was underscored by the absence of the usual energetic announcements.
As just one person on-site, my experience was significantly constrained, leading to a sense of missed opportunities for coverage.
