A New Splatoon Spinoff Game Is Coming Exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo announced Splatoon Raiders, the first-ever spinoff in the Splatoon series, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game features players as mechanics on a journey in the Spirhalite Islands alongside the Deep Cut trio. Though the exact release date is yet to be disclosed, a trailer gave players a glimpse of the gameplay. Additionally, Splatoon 3 is receiving a significant free update, enhancing graphics and performance with crossplay capabilities between Switch and Switch 2, and introducing new weapon kits and levels to further enrich gameplay.
"In the role of a mechanic, players will go on an adventure in the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside the splat-tacular Deep Cut trio," Nintendo said in a blog post.
"Splatoon 3 will support crossplay between Switch and Switch 2, enhancing the multiplayer experience for players across both platforms."
"Version 10.0.0 update will bring enhanced visuals and smoother performance in certain locations like Splatsville and the Grand Festival Grounds on Switch 2."
"The update will also raise all weapon freshness caps and add new in-game badges for players, alongside a new matchmaking system based on player power."
