I can't wait to help bring Baldur's Gate and all of its incredible characters to life with as much respect and love as we can, and I'm deeply grateful to Gabe Marano and his team at Hasbro for entrusting me with this incredibly important property,"

Craig Mazin will create, write, executive produce, and showrun an HBO drama series based on Baldur's Gate 3. The series will continue the RPG's story immediately after the game's ending and follow characters dealing with the aftermath. Mazin is a longtime Dungeons & Dragons player who has logged nearly 1,000 hours in Baldur's Gate 3 and described the adaptation as a "dream come true." The intellectual property belongs to Wizards of the Coast. Larian Studios is not involved in the adaptation, and Larian CEO Swen Vincke expressed eagerness to see the show's direction.
