Black Ops 7 Makes Body Shield Mechanic Go Boom
"If you've played Black Ops 6, then you should be familiar with the Body Shield. Sneaking up behind your enemy, this mechanic lets you grab them and use their bodies to soak up bullets as you shoot your way through. It's already pretty brutal, but in Black Ops 7, it can become explosive as you tack a grenade onto your body shield's back for a fiery finish."
""Once you have your adversary locked into a Body Shield, you can jam a grenade onto them and shove them forward," the developers wrote in the post. "They'll stagger for a few seconds before the grenade detonates and other enemies can be caught in the explosion." Raven and Treyarch note that it's a "well-timed grenade," implying that a quick-time button press may be required for these fireworks. You can practice this until your fingers go blue in the Multiplayer Training menu. That way, you can always help your foes go out with a bang."
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 comes out on November 14 for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. A beta will start on October 2, in case you wanted the fireworks a little early."
Black Ops 7 expands the Body Shield mechanic so grabbed enemies can be fitted with a grenade and shoved, turning them into moving explosives. Grabbed targets will stagger for a few seconds before detonation, and nearby enemies can be caught in the blast. The explosive variant likely requires a well-timed quick-time button press and can be practiced in the Multiplayer Training menu. The change converts close-quarters takedowns into tactical area-damage opportunities. Black Ops 7 releases November 14 on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, with a beta starting October 2.
