The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, set for release on June 5, has already attracted attention as speedrunner Ikaboze completed a demo of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in just seven minutes. Attending a preview event in Tokyo, Ikaboze showcased their skills by defeating Ganon quickly, exciting the crowd in attendance. The demo highlighted the improved performance of the game on Switch 2, along with features like a new Zelda companion app for tracking Koroks and shrines. Existing players can upgrade for $10 or access the game through their Nintendo Online subscription.
Ikaboze was able to take down Ganon before the demo's time was up, to the delight of a crowd of onlookers, who applauded as the credits started to roll.
The updated versions of both Breath of the Wild and its 2023 sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, will be available to play on Switch 2 on launch day.
