Borderlands 4 is getting its own dedicated showcase during the PlayStation State of Play event. Scheduled for April 30, 2023, at 10PM BST, the event will feature over 20 minutes of gameplay guided by developers from Gearbox. The marketing for the game has ramped up, especially following the announcement of a new release date—September 12, moved from September 23. With an aim to create excitement among fans, the event is expected to highlight new missions, characters, and action skills, alongside humorous moments from Randy Pitchford.
Randy Pitchford will probably be there, and he's a cool guy. Right? Right?!
Gearbox and 2K seem to be properly kicking off the marketing push towards the game since announcing that its release date has been moved up from September 23 to September 12.
In the PS blog announcing this State of Play, Gearbox creative director Graeme Timmins wrote that he and senior project producer Anthony Nicholsonwill be presenting: "over 20 minutes of developer-guided gameplay, including missions, killer weapons, exciting Action Skills, new and returning characters, and more."
I'd wager there'll be plenty of gags, and a lot of screaming too. Fun for you and your whole family of Claptrap plushies.
