That being said, we've honored founders of companies and leaders who are transforming their organizations for the better. We also like to honor individuals in all corners of our region: DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland."
An annual award, running since 1971, recognizes local heroes who make the DC-region a better place to live. Nominations are submitted via an online form and can be resubmitted in subsequent years. Eligible honorees are those whose work produces tangible regional impact in DC, Northern Virginia, or Maryland, including volunteers, nonprofit leaders, teachers, founders, and organizational transformers who go beyond job expectations.
