The Washington Nationals hosted their popular Pups in the Park night, where dogs and their owners enjoyed a game. However, the event coincided with a scheduled fireworks display, leading to distress among many canine attendees when the loud noises began shortly after the game ended. Dog owners expressed frustration about the insufficient time provided to evacuate their pets from the area before the fireworks commenced, highlighting the need for mindful planning concerning events that affect animals in attendance.
As a dog owner, I felt unprepared for the fireworks that followed the Nationals’ Pups in the Park night. The coordination felt rushed and inconsiderate.
Scheduling fireworks on a night with so many dogs present seemed unnecessary, given the emotional distress this can cause to our four-legged friends.
