"The Commanders are bringing in Maryland standout Alan Herron for a workout this week. Herron is projected to be a sixth or seventh-round pick by most analysts."
"Herron generated some much-needed starting experience over the last two seasons with the Terrapins. His lack of legitimate length could result in a switch to the interior once he gets to the pros."
"The run blocking should be better for someone as strong as Herron, although he is vulnerable against quicker edge rushers, which lends further weight to moving him inside."
"The Commanders saw enough in the prospect to warrant a closer examination, particularly how explosive he was out of his stance at the Senior Bowl."
The Washington Commanders will retain four of their five starting offensive linemen in 2026, despite the release of center Tyler Biadasz. General manager Adam Peters aims to find a long-term center and improve depth. The team is working out Maryland offensive lineman Alan Herron, projected as a late-round pick or undrafted free agent. Herron has starting experience at right tackle but may transition to the interior due to his size. He showed promise at the Senior Bowl, particularly in pass protection and explosiveness.
