Nothing Ear (3) in for review
"While they may look like last year's Nothing Ear from a distance, the Ear (3)'s case features a plastic lid fused to an aluminum base. We have to say the aluminum certainly feels more premium than the all-plastic cases on previous Nothing earbuds and it should fare better against scratches. The added heft from the aluminum is barely felt as the Ear (3)'s case tips the scale at just over 61 grams"
"You'll also notice the new TALK button front and center on the case, which, combined with the all-new Super Mic microphone on the right-hand side, allows you to use the case as a portable microphone. This comes in handy for calls and voice notes, and it's a clever idea, given the poor track history of most wireless earbuds when it comes to recording audio. We'll make sure to test out how it fares in our full review."
"Elsewhere, Ear (3) features 12mm dynamic drivers with a patterned diaphragm surface, which Nothing claims will offer lower harmonic distortion. The active noise cancellation (ANC) system is rated at up to 45dB, just like last year's model. Battery life is now rated at up to 10 hours with ANC off from the buds, while the case extends those numbers to 38 hours."
The Nothing Ear (3) include a USB-C charging cable and three sizes of replacement ear tips (S, M, L). The charging case combines a plastic lid with an aluminum base for improved scratch resistance and a more premium feel. The case weighs just over 61 grams and the combined weight of buds and case is 71.4 grams. A TALK button on the case and an all-new Super Mic on the right side enable using the case as a portable microphone for calls and voice notes. The earbuds use 12mm dynamic drivers with a patterned diaphragm claimed to reduce harmonic distortion. Active noise cancellation is rated up to 45dB. Bud battery life is rated up to 10 hours with ANC off, and the case extends total playback to 38 hours.
