Emmet and Emmet Snippets
"Before I dive headlong down this rabbit hole, I first need to know if you use it, why you use it, what it's good for, and whether you recommend it. At first glance, anything that will generate lines of code for me will reduce the number of typos that my old brain (84) will make; so it appeals to me."
"This would have saved me hours had I known about it. Early on, I created a shell HTML file and tried to keep up with it in VS Code across several projects. That was a waste time intended to save time but I can see how using Emmet for that and many other uses where syntax can be auto-generated would be a time saver."
I stumbled across Emmet while looking into using Git in VS Code and took an immediate detour. I want to know whether others use it, why they use it, what it's good for, and whether it's recommended. Anything that generates lines of code could reduce typos caused by my age, so Emmet appeals to me. I saw a snippet that auto-generates a shell HTML file and presume similar snippets exist for PHP. I created my own shell HTML file across projects and found that maintaining it wasted time. Emmet could save hours by auto-generating syntax. I seek advice and an Emmet cheatsheet text file for quick reference.
