The Flow browser has reached a significant milestone by passing 90% of web-platform-tests, a requirement for Apple to permit third-party browser engines on iOS in the EU. Developer Piers Wombwell indicated a focus on compliance and plans to revive the iOS port. Version 7.0.1, tested on a Raspberry Pi 500, offers a basic user interface for navigation. While lacking features found in more popular browsers, Flow excels in speed and respects user data privacy, now effectively running services like Google Docs and YouTube.
When we last looked at Flow, it was still in its early days, although the performance and lack of data slurpage were appealing.
It's a significant milestone for the browser, and ticks off one of the requirements for Apple to allow the rendering engine on its devices in the European Union.
