"So I mean, those are really good guys. They're really good people, too, outside of their athletic abilities."
"They didn't have to do that. Travis did a kind donation that's gonna help my family get over there. A lot more of my family can come now."
"I know Jason and Kylie will be there for sure. Travis is working on it."
Laila Edwards became the first Black female hockey player named to a U.S. Winter Olympics roster after earlier joining the United States senior women's national team. Her family launched a GoFundMe to cover Olympic expenses and raised about $56,000 by late last week. Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce collectively donated $10,000 after previously supporting Edwards publicly; the Kelce brothers and Edwards are natives of Cleveland Heights. Donations ranged from $5 to several thousand dollars, allowing ten of Edwards' relatives to travel to Italy for the women's hockey tournament beginning February 5. Edwards praised the Kelces and said Jason and Kylie will attend, with Travis possibly joining.
