Every day I think of her': Heartbreak of Mother's Day without missing daughter
"Every day I think of her, Andrea told The Independent. Because she's in the house, there are pictures everywhere. I feel close to her. I have things that are always close [that remind me of her]. I think about her every day."
"The 64-year-old said the family, which also includes her other three daughters, are always looking for new ways to commemorate Georgina, mark occasions and raise awareness of her story. We'd set the table at Christmas for her, get presents, she said. We do something on her birthday we get a cake, and I like to take the boys somewhere."
Andrea Gharsallah has spent eight Mother's Days without her daughter Georgina, who vanished on March 7, 2018, after leaving her mother's Worthing home. Georgina was 30 years old at the time of her disappearance. Andrea, now 64, cares for Georgina's two teenage sons, aged 15 and 16. The family maintains Georgina's memory through photographs throughout their home and commemorates significant occasions including her birthday and Christmas by setting a table for her and purchasing gifts. Andrea reflects on her daily thoughts of her missing daughter, while the extended family, including three other daughters, continues searching for new ways to raise awareness and mark important dates in hopes of finding answers about Georgina's disappearance.
