Wes Huber, a Software Developer at Brock Solutions, has a longstanding passion for creative writing, which he brings into his work by writing coding tutorials for specific challenges he encounters. With a solid background in freelance work and diverse projects, he reflects on both the highs, such as successful project completions and user engagement, and lows, including struggles with job procurement and corporate dynamics. He appreciates writing about technology for its evolving nature and global significance, and while he enjoys using AI tools for support, he emphasizes original content creation.
I started writing coding tutorials about very specific issues that I would come across in projects where I had not seen a tutorial written for the issue yet.
Technology is an easy topic to write about because it's so broad, it's ever changing with a global impact, and there always seems to be some juicy tech drama.
The highs were getting a really easy UpWork job that paid well. Also, getting over 200 users on my app, The Trick Book on the App store, has been a highlight.
I'm more of a hobbyist writer, it's not a top priority for me, so I'm never stressing about 'I have to write something' unless I'm entering a competition.
