Max Verstappen produced a flawless Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend, taking pole position, fastest lap and the race victory. McLaren experienced a chaotic and error-strewn weekend as Oscar Piastri crashed out in qualifying and again on the opening lap, leaving Baku without points. Lando Norris failed to capitalize on opportunities and finished seventh, and the team suffered another slow pit stop. Verstappen's victory narrowed championship gaps to 69 points behind Piastri and 44 behind Norris. A race win awards 25 points, and Verstappen has recovered 35 points on Piastri over the past two races.
