"The man is expected to appear before ACT magistrates court on Friday, where police will allege in October a member of the public confronted him as he stuck stickers up at a shopping centre and then performed a Nazi salute before leaving the centre. The man allegedly performed another Nazi salute on 12 December at a different shopping centre, police said. Along with our law enforcement partners, we are committed to stopping hate, division and violence in the community."
An 18-year-old has been charged with performing two Nazi salutes at Canberra shopping centres and placing propaganda-style stickers. Police allege in October he was confronted while sticking stickers at a shopping centre and he then performed a Nazi salute; they allege he performed another Nazi salute on 12 December at a different centre. He faces trespass charges for multiple incidents at the Australian National University and two counts of damaging commonwealth property. AFP national security investigators executed a search warrant at a Weston property and seized phones, a computer, stickers and clothing. AFP assistant commissioner Stephen Nutt said antisemitism is not tolerated and vowed action to stop hate.
